Cadaqués is a small fishing village on Cap de Creus peninsula on Costa Brava. This most eastern village of  Spain attracts many tourists, especially from nearby France. Staying here is a relief from the civilization noise and crowded streets of big cities. Here you are surrounded by a dry, mountain region from one side and deep blue sea from the other.

In the past the charm of this place attracted lots of artists searching for inspiration and silence. Such famous persons as Pablo Picasso, Joan Miró, Marcel Duchamp or Salvador Dalí were frequent guests of this village.

Now Cadaqués is trying to keep it’s extraordinary character. For example there is a ban on high-rise buildings and a limited access for cars.

Although you can get there in a traditional way (by bus or car), it is an interesting experience to reach Cadaqués walking from Rosas on a small trail following the coast line. On one hand it’s quite a long (may take longer than one day) route and you risk getting a sunburn, on the other, you have a chance to bath in every deserted bay you pass, experience some mountaineering and (if you can afford it and you have arranged the reservation long time before) you can have dinner in Spain’s most famous restaurant “El Bulli”, located 7km from Rosas in Cala Montjoi.
